| UK Expansion and Grand Opening Ceremony
Earlier this month, FUJIFILM Biotechnologies celebrated the opening of its UK expansion providing expanded manufacturing capacity and process development laboratories. This marks the first kojoXTM site in the UK providing small and mid-scale antibody manufacturing, and is now the largest single-use CDMO facility in the UK. Several hundred guests, dignitaries and company representatives attended the special event, including His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh; Teiichi Goto, President, Representative Director and Chief Executive Officer,
FUJIFILM Corporation; His Excellency Hiroshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to the United Kingdom; prominent Ministers of Parliament (MPs), and many other industry and local community partners.

- The £400 million UK expansion introduces 2,000 L and 5,000 L single-use bioreactors with a total capacity up to 19,000 L, with the flexibility to expand to customer programs as needed. The 110,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility will be operational in the first half of 2026.
- During the opening event, we also hosted an industry panel discussion titled, “The North East’s New Engine: Biomanufacturing Powering the UK’s Life Science Ambition.” The session brought key players from the UK life sciences sector to showcase the value the region has in driving innovation and advancing biopharmaceutical manufacturing in the UK and beyond.
