Maja Pedersen

President & Chief Operating Officer

Maja Pedersen is President and Chief Operating Officer of FUJIFILM Biotechnologies, a world-leading contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) with a global footprint of manufacturing facilities located in the United States, Europe, and Asia. She has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical and life sciences industries, having held leadership positions in quality assurance and control, regulatory affairs and external manufacturing. 

Prior to her current role, Maja served as Chief Operations Officer, overseeing site operations, supply chain, quality, regulatory affairs, process development, and global manufacturing science and technology (MSAT). Before that, she was the company’s Chief Quality Officer, overseeing the organization’s global quality network across multiple manufacturing sites and responsible for institutionalizing global quality standards, and creating a streamlined global regulatory process.  

Prior to Fujifilm, Maja served as Global Head of External Manufacturing at Biogen, overseeing the entire CDMO network. She has experience with successful start-up of large-scale manufacturing capabilities ensuring commercial manufacturing licenses for several life-changing therapies. 

Maja drives a culture with a strong focus on patients and a firm belief in quality as an enabler, resulting in strong ownership of responsibilities across multiple functions.  In 2025, she received the “Women Worth Watching” award from Profiles in Leadership Journal.
