HILLERØD, Denmark, October 6, 2026 — FUJIFILM Biotechnologies, a world-leading contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) for biologics, vaccines, and advanced therapies, today published its annual sustainability review for FY2025 (covering fiscal year ending March 31, 2026), detailing its progress towards its Partners for the Planet 2030 ambition.

“As an integral part of the biopharmaceutical supply chain, we play an important role in helping deliver life-changing medicines. In addition to helping the lives of people, we firmly believe in doing our part to reduce our impact on the environment,” said Peter Skals, Head of Global Sustainability at FUJIFILM Biotechnologies. “Our ongoing efforts and accomplishments toward our sustainability goals were recently recognized via an award from a major customer. We’re very proud of this accomplishment, and it shows how sustainability and our business activities go hand-in-hand, driving operational excellence and reinforcing our partner ambition.”

Key achievements of FUJIFILM Biotechnologies’ Sustainability Review FY2025:

  • Renewable Electricity Progress: FUJIFILM Biotechnologies expanded renewable electricity procurement through the execution of a power purchase agreement supporting operations in Hillerød, Denmark, and through Fujifilm’s virtual power purchase agreement covering its U.S. sites. These agreements contributed to increasing renewable electricity coverage from 11% in FY2024 to 27% in FY2025. These renewable electricity agreements form part of the company’s longer-term target to source or match 100% of its electricity consumption with renewable electricity by 2030.
  • UK Expansion: The new, 110,000 sq. ft manufacturing expansion at FUJIFILM Biotechnologies’ site in Billingham, UK (the largest single-use biomanufacturing facility in the UK) uses electrically powered manufacturing systems for regular operations and includes membrane-based cold water-for-injection (WFI) production.
  • Denmark Site Electrification Progress: For one expansion at its Hillerød, Denmark site, FUJIFILM Biotechnologies commissioned two 3.5 MW electric boilers instead of adding new natural-gas-fired boiler capacity.
  • Independent Sustainability Assessments: During the latest assessment cycle from 2025 – 2026, FUJIFILM Biotechnologies’ Hillerød site achieved an EcoVadis Gold rating, while sites in Billingham, UK, Research Triangle Park and Holly Springs, North Carolina maintained Silver ratings. EcoVadis is a widely used sustainability ratings provider, and evaluates organizations across environmental, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement criteria, providing an external benchmark.

Partners for the Planet is FUJIFILM Biotechnologies’ sustainability strategy. It provides a framework for defined initiatives and targets across operations, procurement, customer collaboration and the work environment, while aligning directly with the Fujifilm Group’s broader Sustainable Value Plan 2030. FUJIFILM Biotechnologies’ targets include:

  • Reducing CO2e emissions by 50% by 2030 (against a 2019 baseline year) with the goal of reaching net-zero by 2040.
  • Achieving 100% of electricity consumption from renewable sources by 2030.
  • Cutting supply chain CO2e emissions by 50% by 2030 (against a 2023 baseline).
